This park has a fun trail to hike, though the temptation to go off trail to explore (and perhaps get lost) is strong. A little muddy, but not bad by south Louisiana standards at all. I would certainly wear long pants and use bug spray when hiking this trail in the summertime. The swamp views make it worth the hike.
It's a nice trail, but it was a little muddy. There are some deep ruts that held water from the previous week's rain. Saw a ton of frogs and other wildlife taking advantage of the puddles, but it made maneuvering the trail a little difficult. Also, make sure you bring some bug spray. Overall still a quiet and enjoyable hike.
