A well maintained library with a very good collection of books and a convenient online portal thought which we can search for and hold books for pick up. The staff here are very helpful and courteous. They have lot of activities for kids and a separate floor full of books for the younger generation.
During this coronavirus problem the library extended the date my books were due. In early June I accessed my account online and found one of the three books was now considered overdue. The return book box located on Pleasant Streetwas taped shut preventing the return of overdue books. I went to the back of the library and used the book return there. I noticed only account that some books that I had requested were in transit. I attempted several times to contact the library and was instructed by an automated answering service to email the library. I did on 2 separate occasions to no avail. Now was record is saying i have 2 books checked out that arrived in transit. This is not only frustrating but totally unprofessional.
The new director has ruined everything. Drove away the friends of the library, the children’s librarian, volunteers, and more. Service is terrible now. She ruined Dedham too. They got rid of Richard Mahoney from the Trustees. Such a shame. I used to love this place.
Fabulous library and great covid procedures.
