Canton Municipal Court

If you are a new resident to Cherokee county they will not send you a bill for renewing your tags even if you go in and have your drivers license updated so they have your information and know your a resident there now. So I didn't receive the bill and didn't realize my tags were expired and got a ticket for $140. Called to see if it could be reduced in price since it was just an innocent mistake, and was told I would have to come in to the court date on the ticket to find that out. So I did and after waiting on them being very slow, was told it is impossible to lower the cost. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT AND JUST TOLD ME THAT instead of wasting my time, gas, and money off work!!! The ticket was totally unnecessary. The people answering the phone need to know what they should be telling people to give people accurate information and save them from all this trouble. It must be depressing for the poor guy who has to tell people what the person on the phone could have told them, after they've gone to all that trouble, time, and expense to come here. Please get your business organized and treat people with justice, your business is supposed to be justice, not injustice. A lot of money will be made off of not sending renewal bills to new residents. Also, a file of papers is made for each one of these little tickets, so wasteful. Try to care about the earth. Try to treat others how you would want to be treated. Try to be fair and civil. You have to pay cash or they will charge you an additional $5 for using a debit/credit card.

Extremely unprofessional, in the span of 30 seconds I witnessed a cop start an argument with 2 people. Staff inside was also rude and unprofessional.

All you get is answering machine

Biggest waste of time and expenses I've ever had the misforune of paying for. The court will be 30 minutes late starting and very overcrowded.
