Officers and Clerics absurdly inept. Officers just want to dole out unwarranted tickets to collect money and clerics so lazy and rude they won’t even take it when you try to pay!

I took my youngest son to our community back to school fair. At the fair, there was a Port Wentworth police tent. My son and I went over to check it out. They were giving away free fingerprint kits and of course my son wanted to participate. When we were waiting in line, I recognized an officer as the one that was assigned to my ex-husbands case. I gave him one of those hey I recognize you smiles, but it was obvious he did not recognize me. It soon became very clear he did not recognize me. As my son walked up to the officer doing the finger printing, the officers began to gossip. To my dismay, it was about ex-husbands death. I was shocked. I peered over to my son hoping he did not catch on and it appeared he didn't. I have never been so hurt and angry at the same time. I felt paralyzed. This wasn't a group of housewives, it was the actual officers who worked the case. (Or at least one). They were discussing personal information that had been shared with them in interviews during the investigation. These were things that had not been made public. As a Port Wentworth resident, I have lost all faith in the department and fear any information shared during an ongoing investigation will be shared in a public forum for anyone to hear. Theses officers showed very poor judgement and are a poor example of your department.

Poor excuse for law enforcement agency. I am from a family of law enforcement and have never seen such a lack of common sense in this field. What happened to the decent people who are there to protect and serve? And you wonder why people do not respect you.

I am highly disappointed in the lack of professionalism that this department has. Officer Brune is not an officer of integrity. I am discouraged to know that we rely on our police force for matters of actual attention, but he'd rather harass those involved with obscene language and poor behavior, and perform his duties in a manner that is unacceptable. Fortunately, body cam footage is something you cannot manipulate, especially for an individual that wasn't even present. Perhaps, sir, you should have done your investigation properly rather than charge an innocent person that you haven't even spoken with nor do you have anything factual of this said person. I am anxious for our day in court where we can only hope you will learn how you are supposed to conduct your role in our society.

Instead of looking for people who are committing actual crimes, Port Wentworth police are busy hassling honest, hard working people...people who are trying hard to be decent people! Looking at the reviews, this appears to be a pattern with this police department. People who are not even breaking the law should not have to feel nervous while anywhere near Port Wentworth. It's a shame but these guys hassle people based on physical appearance. It truly is a shame to not feel safe and protected by police officers, not even just not feel safe, but feel afraid! Honest, hard working people who strive to be good people are not safe around PW. This would probably be a great place to commit an actual crime since the police are busy with the good guys. What a shame...
