I don't usually write bad reviews regarding an establishment's. However, my family entrusted Willie A. Watkins, funeral home to service my brother Sgt. Major George L. Shine Jr. (USMC) 29 years of service to the militarynThere were several mistakes that were made and Watkins funeral home in my opinion could care less about it.nThe Representative T. G. meet me at my hotel room to discuss the arrangements, she was late getting there because she went and met with other family members, which was not the agreement.nWhen she did arrived and I expressed my frustrations to her she explained why it was done that way. I agreed to accept the changed arrangements in regards to the meeting place.nNext I asked her when are we going to look at the caskets? The representative for Watkins Funeral Home , (T. G.) stated oh I have already picked out the casket for the family. I must admit it was a beautiful casket reflecting his 29 years in the Marine Corps, but it would have been nice if the family had the opportunity to chose our love one casket and not what the Funeral Home feel he needed to be buried in...nNext they placed the announcement on Willie Watkins Funeral Home, Facebook book page which was nice but they spelled Sergeant incorrectly. An addition to spelling Sergeant incorrectly they had his death date as January 16,2019. When in fact he died January 16,2020.nAlso, friends of my brother in Atlanta said the Funeral Home were telling them they didn't have my body causing a lot of confusion.nNow let talk about the program, it was a disaster, they had my family members names wrong, they listed my living husband as being deceased along with my brother in law.nWhen my brother and the funeral home in South Carolina, which was my brother final resting place called Willie Watkins of Carrollton Ga to try to make needed changes changes to the program I was informed that the representative T.G. was rude and unwilling to accommodate the family needs.nThe family was willing to repay the 300.00 to have the entire program re- done but Wille A. Watkins, of Carrollton Ga refused to assist with the changes.nI whisper to my deceased brother, you gave your life for this country and we can't give you a nice Homegoing service because in my opinion Willie A. Watkins, representative was more concerned about the profit not the person.nI must admit Milik, I hope I spelled his name correct was very professional and understanding to my frustrations.nI didn't enjoy the service because I was over taken by embarrassments and frustration.nWillie A. Watkins, gave the family a beautiful blanket with my brother Sgt Major picture on it and I requested one be made for me to purchase. After, careful thought I will be making the purchase from another Funeral Home.nnTo Willie A. Watkins, when a family comes to you in their times of needs Respect that family needs and desires please. Allow the family to pick out the casket not you! In my opinion it was to much black surrounding the casket. His eyes needed to be sealed it looks as though one eye was coming open. Also, a pair of white gloves who have been nice on the Marine hands.nI feel very strongly the insurance policy was more important to your business than the man who laid down his life.nSo today I salute my brother -Semper~FinGone but loved by so many people!nDonna
