Walgreens Pharmacy

This was my first time filling a prescription at my new pharmacy since we moved here to Fl and unfortunately when I went to pick up my prescription we had a 45 mins wait... by the end of it my toddler was losing it. When I went to pick up my Rx they told me my Zofran order was $286!!! I quickly questioned the order and the insurance info they had on file for me. They had my old info but that still only brought it down to $116. I still questioned the order and price but they said that was the lowest it could be. The lady I was working with seemed new and with us having already waited so long I purchased the script figuring maybe it was due to my new insurance. It wasn’t until getting home I realized that the dosage was wrong. Twice the norm I’d ever taken. I verified with my doctor and made sure my right dose would be available. When I went to pick up the correct medication I requested a return/refund for my unopened box of medication. Still completely sealed. I was told they could not take the medication back. Even though it was the wrong dose. They proceeded to tell me that I could simply half my dose and still use it however when I tried to explain my problem was the fact that the medication I needed was only $4... yes $4 and they didn’t seem to care about the fact that I would be out $112 of my hard earned money. I even asked to speak to the manager and tried to explain the situation but got nowhere. Neither woman I spoke with had any once of empathy for me or my situation and could not care less about the extra $112 I was now out unnecessarily. I have never been so upset by the lack of decency and coldheartedness of fellow healthcare workers. Not only should this no return policy be explained to customers but a good pharmacy tech/pharmacist should mention if a medication seems out of the norm expensive explain to the client that other doses/routes/etc may be cheaper options. Because of this poor service and lack of compassion I will be using a pharmacy else where. I used to be a huge fan but now I’m very disappointed in how Walgreens treats their customers.

Handy store to pick up a few things . Can be a little pricey , but they have good sales .
