I will never go to downtown Suffolk Sentara Obici E.R ever again (they lost my CV19 results & then at another visit people were waiting for 2+ hours & patients walking out/leaving the E.R due to length of wait) after experiencing the level of care and *genuine* concern I received while with Franklin Memorial. Thank you for all that you do and for the care you give!!! Highly recommend Franklin Memorial. Even the food was good? Miller was an absolute angel. These are truly dedicated people & staff who went far and beyond expectations!!!

On August 3rd I became sick with COVID-19. I was tested at Total Family Care on the 4th with results on the 6th. I was sick at home for the first week with a high fever, headache, loss of taste (except for sweet foods and beverages) and smell and terrible coughing. On the 11th I got much worse with a very low Blood Ox, 104 fever and severe shortness of breath. My daughter insisted I go to the hospital. I wanted to go to a Sentara facility in case my condition got worse. I've been in several of their hospitals for unrelated issues and was very impressed by the care I received. My daughter loaded me in my truck and headed to Norfolk. While en route I called 3 of Sentara's hospitals. When I spoke to check in at each of the facilities, I described my symptoms and was told that there was a 3 to 4 hour wait to get into to see a doctor. My daughter had already called SMH and was told they could take me right away. By this time we were in Carrsville. We turned around and headed back to SMH. Upon arrival I was checked in and in an ER bed within just a very few minutes. Once in I had an IV and on to a CT also within a very few minutes. I was admitted with COVID and Pneumonia and was told I'd probably in the hospital for about 8 to 10 days. I had the most wonderful nurses who provided me outstanding care. The in-house physicians were excellent and checked on me regularly. I can't say enough about the level of excellent care I had while there. I couldn't eat, but I will mention that the food appeared excellent. At one meal they served honey BBQ wings. I opened the container and there were enough wings for 2 or 3 people. I tasted one and it was as good as any I've had in a famous wing restaurant, but I still couldn't eat them. I've told everyone I've spoken with how pleased I was with every aspect of my care at SMH. I was able to be discharged after only 4 nights/5 days. Thank you SMH.

All the staff was so caring and attentive! The same day surgery department staff was excellent, apologize for not remembering all the names but Holly and her staff were super! Alex the anesthesiologist nurse was just awesome! When admitted I had nurses Sam, another Sam, and Carol, along with many other nursing staff. All were most courteous and caring. I never felt as if I was bugging them when I buzzed for help. There was an NP who visited me several times, and she was awesome. My physical therapists, Clay and Blake (?) were absolutely on point! Highly recommend Southampton Memorial Hospital for care. They make you feel like family! ❤ufe0f

If I could give them no stars I would. If you or a love one is having or had a stroke request to go someone else... wrong information was giving and the time frame of possibly saving my parent to a full recovery might lost and now my parent is in ICU in another hospital. If a lawyer is reading this I would like to consult with so I can find out if I can sue. P.S. We have multiple family members in the medical field to back us up with this.
