LewisGale Medical Center Emergency Room

Lewis Gale Emergency Room really disappointed me so bad. I took my mom there Thursday evening after leaving Velocity care. They sent us to Lewis Gale ER to get a ultra sound to rule out a blood clot since she was in horrible pain. After arriving we sat in the hall waiting area for 1.5 hours before getting moved to a room with a tiny bed to sit on. She wasn't offered anything to relieve her pain and wasn't checked on at all for 3.5 hours. Mean will people are in the halls laughing and talking while we sat they putting ourselves at risk of getting covid. After almost 4 hours a doctor comes in looks at her leg and says I don't think its a blood clot or compartment syndrome and we don't have a ultra sound tech on duty until tomorrow at 8am! Really??? After sitting there half the night still in horrible pain they tell us there's no one available. So she was sent home with a fricking nerve pill. The next morning after suffering all night she drove back for the ultra sound and they just said we will send the results to your doctor Monday. None of the physicians out of the 3 we seen did any kind of blood work to rule out infection or anything. They done absolutely nothing to help her. And still tonight she's in horrible terrible pain but has to wait to see her primary care doctor Monday for blood work. I have been worried sick with anxiety not knowing whats wrong and I practically had to force her to go to ER in the first place then after getting her to the car Lewis Gale completely left us out in the cold. What emergency room doesn't do bloodwork first thing??? They are idiots and if something were to happen I will hold Lewis Gale responsible!!!! Not everyone is just a crack head trying to get medicine. You can't risk people life because of what other idiots do with theirs.

Took my daughter in law to this er at 230 am the girl at the counter needs to go somewhere else she is awful my daughter would in terrible pain waited 20 minutes before anyone came then got more terrible service

Outstanding service and medical care. Some times you have to be proactive in urging doctors and staff to get test's done and staff duties accomplished. Hospital is very busy and at times under-staffed. The day my wife was there they were waiting for 28 beds to open up for overnight or longer.

The nurses Anne and Courtney were the greatest help and so sweet. This was such a simple and quick visit for something that has taken me hours at any other hospital. My favorite visit to a hospital yet. Thanks ladies!
