OrthoVirginia: Blacksburg

I had my first session on February 2nd, 2021at 9:30 AM, which should end at 10:15. I arrived at 9:25 AM. Afterwards, the front receptionist kept asking me questions that I left empty last time I came on January 27th, 2021 such as my marital state, race, etc. She also asked me to complete a questionnaire on an I-pad.nnI started my session at around 9:50 am. There were two physical therapists who asked me why I came here and some background questions about my medical history. My evaluation and physical therapy session lasted for 25 minutes instead of 45 minutes. I told the therapist that I was late in starting my session for almost 20 minutes and I should continue exercising, she let me cycle for 7 more minutes. However, still there were almost 13 remaining lost time from my session that I didn’t use.nnThis experience let me cancel the 3 upcoming appointments that were reserved. I didn’t benefit at all. The therapist didn’t help to let me reach the normal range, she just asked me to do some movements with no support from her end.nnWhen I received the claim, I was surprised to find that I have been charged for a total of 360$. After my insurance deduction the amount was 190$ for just this session that didn't last for 25 minutes. The amount was divided on code CPT Code: 97162 for 80$ and CPT Code: 97110 for 110$. The CPT Code: 97162 is probably the evaluation that didn’t take more than a couple of minutes while the CPT Code: 97110 is the actual exercise that I did 7 minutes of it on my own cycling with no feedback on my performance.nnFinally, I kept asking on the price of the sessions on the front disks before my session and I didn’t receive a proper answer. I was told to check with the insurance. However, I could have been told the range of regular sessions to get an idea. I really don’t feel that the service I received is worth 360$ as my session was missing almost 13 minutes out of the 45 minutes; one third of my session was wasted because they didn’t let me in on time.nnWhen I complained on February 11th, the management told me on February 23rd that they were merged with the Blacksburg office I visited that is why they had to let me fill papers again and the session doesn't have to be 45 minutes. This doesn't make any sense for me. They should have aligned me to come early the second visit to refill all the documents because they have merged, but not to let me lose one third of the session.nnThey are not sharp in their appointments and they don't give you your time. That is not fair. I wish I could give you 0 rating not even 1. Thanks

Expensive! Treated a sprained ankle with a 52.00 dollar brace...the doctors had great bedside manner, but holy cow I should have just gone an bought a brace for half the price!

I highly recommend Dr. Eastwood. I went to him for a second opinion on my torn meniscus and he seemed much more knowledgeable about my injury and I trusted his professional opinion about having the surgery. He did an amazing job repairing my meniscus and recovery was quick and better than expected.

Dr. Eastwood and Matt Shortt are fantastic. Matt is who I've seen mostly in the office, while Dr. Eastwood performed my surgery. The care I received after my initial injury, and before and after my surgery have been wonderful. Matt's bedside manner is terrific and I always felt at ease and that all my questions were thoughtfully answered. I haven't seen much of Dr. Eastwood, but that's probably for the best, so he can be performing surgeries! He did a great job on mine, and the recovery has been swift and successful so far! Then of course there are all the nurses, staff, and radiologists who have all been top notch as well! Very glad the ER referred me over here!
