I sustained a traumatic brain injury which the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to swiftly and professionally. I think they arrived no longer than two minutes after the call was placed to emergency services. I was so impressed with their level of care. Fortunately, I maintained consciousness-- the only downside being that I was very aware of the gravity of the situation. The rescue team was not only keen on helping me physically, they continually reassured me, which helped me to stay as calm as I could while I was in their care. I truly appreciate what this organization did for me, and what they do for the citizens of this community.
