The staff is very caring and understanding with your pets. Dr. Campbell is an extremely pet loving Veterinarian. She treats and talks to them as if they're your child. She is very helpful and listens to any concerns you may have. Thank you Dr. Campbell and Staff for being so kind to our pets and making them feel comfortable with you

We brought our dog with a rash. After several hundred dollars we were told they can't do anymore. Treatment is in the 4 figures and due to cancer bills is out of reach, and maybe lifelong. Max is scratching himself raw and this vet said maybe someone will want him. They refused to put him down. Fortunately for all of us I found a vet with a heart to take care of it. This has broken our hearts.

AMCL is amazing. We have been taking our furbabies there for over twelve years now. The vets and technicians are so thoughtful and caring. Even thru this pandemic, they have managed to provide loving care to the community's furbabies. I highly recommend AMCL for anyone with dogs and cats. They treat you like family and test your pets like their own. And yes, they are on FB too.

Best bet around! No long waiting for an appt, and the appts go pretty fast and they are thorough.

I called this organization during a animal emergency. My dog developed eclampsia and had been to the vet twice before in the in a week. With the third eclampsia attack on set, I did not have time to get her to an emergency vet. I called local vets and this particular veterinarian office simply told me they didn't have an appointment available. I reason with them and told them I was trying to get to Charlottesville to an emergency vet but that my dog would not live that long. I told him she had eclampsia, and I needed some calcium in her immediately or she would die. The woman on the other end of the line simply said, I'm sorry ma'am we don't have an appointment available we don't have an appointment available.I attempted to reason with her and tell her that my dog was literally dying in the seat next to me and please do they not triage?? Again she said, we have people sitting in our waiting room who have appointments. This went back and forth until I finally said to her, let me understand correctly. You are there today, you have appointment scheduled with regular customers, you understand my dog is literally dying and will not make it to Charlottesville, and that is okay because you have appointments?? You will not inconvenience yourself or your customers to save an animal in distress?? The final answer was no they will not. I would never use this vet, I was extremely disappointed in them, and and I would give every recommendation to the Central Virginia veterinarian who was compassionate, took my dog in at closing time and saved her life. And not only did they save her life, they sent her home with life saving oral calcium which means they gave me the tools to do something myself if she slipped back into low calcium which instantly put her in trimmers, seizures and then death. They provided a way for me to keep her from dying. The contrast between these two services is quite Stark. It appears to me as if Animal medical center of Louisa is in it for the money and has no interest in the animal. I thought that their position on REFUSING TO TRIAGE an animal in distress was ridiculous, outrageous & incredibly selfish. TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THEM, WHO SHOW COMPASSION FOR THE ANIMAL AND THE OWNERS, USE CENTRAL VIRGINIA VETERINARIAN SERVICE, NOT THIS PLACE HERE.
