This was a stop along the way on a road trip to The Meadows of Dan in Virginia.nnThe location offers gravel parking for approximately 8 to 10 cars. Once outside, visitors treated to spectacular views of the Appalachians looking to the north.nnHalf of the experience was the drive along the two lane road leading up to the lookout point. It's a wonderfully curvy, scenic mountain tarmac leading up to about 3,000 ft.nnThe particular day I went was Easter Sunday and there were only two other cars there. I'm sure during the summer months and holidays it'd be much more crowded.nnUnfortunately, although this is one of the most beautiful overlooks in the Appalachians, I had to knock off two stars because the area is marred by graffiti and litter. Just under the overlook there was lots of debris strewn amid the vegetation.... very disappointing.nnIn fact, I had to make efforts to aim my camera in various directions to take pictures, so as to avoid capturing the garbage in the photos.nnHopefully, officials will make efforts to clean up the area so it can be more thoroughly enjoyed.

The hotel is located in a great area. The staff are friendly. The bathroom was filthy and the housekeeping didn't really touch the place. They went in but only cleaned off one of the beds. Other than that, it was a nice room.

Beautiful view! Be aware that Google Maps doesnt have the location just right, but you'll know you're there when you see a short stone wall or a ton of cars along the side of the road! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy!
