Floydfest may be, in my opinion, one of the best kept secrets on the festival circuit (although this has been trending to change in the past years). Growing up in this area, it still to this day blows my mind to see our little area, which lies almost dormant, quiet, and leisure-paced for the majority of year, come to such vibrant life when Floydfest comes to town. The locals are warm and welcoming, embracing the theme of 'world music' that follows Floydfest every year. Unlike some of the other festivals, Floydfest lies far enough outside of major metropolitan areas to truly have a rustic feel rolled in with the energy of the festival. Not just music, but fantastic crafts from local artisans abound. Local restaurants fill their menus with drink and food specials. As many festivals have grown in popularity, they have tended to lose their 'soul'. Not Floydfest. The maintenance of the rustic and intimate setting and feeling are a fundamental pillar of Floydfest and one that the organizers are very passionate about preserving. Should you have the chance, go experience Floydfest. Immerse yourself in this truly unique mix of rustic mountain-ism and modern world music.

Most amazing fest ever! Great for Kids and Parents alike. I could have left my bag anywhere or dropped my wallet and would have recovered it all!nLove and Kindness have made this into a wonderful place! I can't wait to go back. We spent Wed.-Sun here and the kids 6-14 loved every minute! Parents loved it even moreud83dude0eud83dudc4d

Great festival for the whole family! There's special kid areas and activities as well as face painting, rock wall, and more. Vendors had samples of their products and lots of delicious food around everywhere. The festival has performers like jugglers and such and the music is the best. At night, the festival lights up with colored lights and glow in the dark exhibits. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, a really great environment. The scenery is breathtaking with Buffalo Mountain in the background of the Blue Ridge Mountains. For adults, there are several beer gardens and plenty of entertainment also. One of the best festivals around!

Excellent music festival with a wide array of music genres, although it will mainly appeal to the younger generation. Late night sets go past midnight. Interesting and tasty food from the vendors, including Sugar Shack and wood fired pizza if you want it. Lots of different beers from the esoteric to the common variety. Check out the festival website for lineup and other info.

Crazy and cool. This festival was much bigger than I had anticipated, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The music was awesome, the activities were great, and the people were really cool. I would definitely recommend it to anyone
