A nostalgic visit to herring creek where I fished many years ago for herring. Great Grandmother diet included salted cured herrings and cornbread - a favorite of some former slaves. We made sure she had some. The parking area is a stop along the Charles City SR5 Bike Trail. It sits across the street from the entrance to the Berkeley plantation.

Nice place to park to ride the Cap Trail. And it has a portable bathroom.
