My husband and I used to go here for years. For the last two years when we stop, it has been closed. Today 3/10/2021 we stop to fish in the beautiful park and there are cones in the entrance of the drive to the lake. Last years the signs said that Anglers Only could fish. I was under the impression that this was a public park, so I am trying to understand what does it take to be an ordinary citizen to fish?

The lake is a good spot to fish. Don't fish the Hatchery or your in trouble. Never had a staff interaction. They have a trail in the back of the Hatchery. Nice and well maintained. Good loop.

Super quiet and scenic. Great for kids and beginner kayakers/canoers.

Great easy hike. Entire loop is about 2 miles. No one else was on the trail for a Sunday afternoon. The dog loved it. Check the historical markers on line before going. There were no maps available. It made the hike very interesting.

Nice fishing lake, especially in spring. Boat launch for electric motorboats, or canoeing and kayaking.
