We had a fabulous ding experience at Carmelo's. Mike, our server provided excellent and attentive service all evening long. The fried Calamari is not to be missed. All the dishes come with home-made pasta. Fabulous!!! Highly recommended. Will eat here again.

Visiting from Hampton, VA we found Carmello's online and so happy we did. Service was exceptional, not one time did we ask for anything. Our waiter was spot on. Food also met our 4 plus star expectation. Started with lovely Italian bread and artichoke app, then a house salad. Hubby had salmon with risotto perfectly cooked and seasoned. I don't eat meat and had spinach with cheese ravioli in cream sauce. Delicious creamy sauce with savory ravioli. We had no room for dessert but finished with a tasty cappuccino. Everything was freshly prepared and fantastic.

Thank you for the fantastic service and delicious Italian dishes! My teenage son and daughter, and I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at Carmello's in Charlottesville, VA on Sunday, September 27, 2020. The server was welcoming, gracious, courteous, professional, and delightful. Wished I got his name. Thank you again Sir! The Italian dishes were amazingly delicious, not heavy as you would think pasta dishes are. The pasta consistency and sauce flavoring was as authentic Italian as I've ever had. The dining atmosphere and ambiance was quaint, charming, and elegant. Prices were moderate and a great value for the quality of the food, service, and overall fine dining! We'll definitely be back to try more of what's on the menu. If you're looking for great service, excellent authentic Italian dishes, and the perfect fine dining experience, you have to give Carmello's a try!

The place was a bit more upscale than expected from a $$ rating (don't expect to spend less than $20 pp) so don't expect casual Italian fare by any means. The calamari was wonderfully juicy for how far inland we are, and they serve bread with a cool red wine/garlic/herb/roasted tomatoes butter mix. My food was quite good, but the other three had a bit more disappointing meals, the spaghetti was about ragu level sauce wise and the meatballs were ~crisp~ so it was quite bad. The lobster was quite outrageously priced for an average quality, and the cheese ravioli was just a solid alright, si if you find yourself here, I would recomend the one with peas (sorry for not knowing the name)

The people with low reviews of this restaurant are clearly sad and petty people who have no lives and nothing better to do.nThis place was amazing and the tortellini was other worldly. Wish I lived here but would need a bigger belt. Wait staff was incredible and friendly.nRecommended highly to all.
