Beautiful location. The main trail to the viewpoint only take sa couple of minutes to ascend from the parking lot, but is worth it. There are more trails in this area if you do your research in advance.
I feel like the Iao Valley is super underrated. You could spend hours here exploring. Even on a rainy day it beautiful. The main trail is paved, but the side trails do get a little muddy. Parking can fill up and you have to pay $5 for parking at the start of the trails.
This cute place had a lovely garden to walk through and has some gorgeous views from the lookout points
Beautiful lush green valley in the middle of Maui. You will get to see some real island homes on the way... a change from hotels and resorts. It’s short ride from Kahului airport. I won’t say it is a must see but if you are on a long trip to Maui or if it not your first trip, then it is a good place to explore.
