Lahaina Public Library

This is the most darling library. There are benches and chairs, a great selection of books, and the windows open up to the ocean breezes. For those of us who love little book nooks, this is a quaint place to rest and read when you need a little respite from the bustling streets of Lahaina.

Absolutely the most lovely library in the world. Mellow staff, nice selection on the issues of Hawaii and everything Hawaiian including local Oceanography and music. Ceasar the guard outside chases off tourists trying to steal the parking spots, which can be tricky to maneuver into. Lovely.

A nice easy place to read some books or adults or kids. Worth a trip if you are traveling with kids and want something quick for them to do that doesn't involve shopping or eating sweets. Nice kids section with tables for reading. Cool and calm and you can see historic sites like the King's Taro Patch while you are there.

2 stars for great location and clean bathrooms. 0 stars for staff who seem...bitter they are working there unfortunatley. I love libraries but this was the least friendliest place I’ve been. Not friendly for laptops, make sure you use their computers otherwise you will be subjected to a small stool in the corner blocking a charging station for phones. Great for people simply wanting to read, useless for people needing to study.
