Makawao Public Library

Best library, and right across the street from the bus stop. Really good DVD collection if you are into watching movies. The security lady is a really friendly and professional - keeps the place running with a smooth orderly grace. Friends of the library holiday booksales are great and those ladies are nice too. All around just a really nice place and in a cool neighborhood up on the hill. If you need something to drink in between checking out books or paying your late fees, just cruise to Casanovas across the street or even rodeo general store around the corner. Perfect little spot to get smart, get connected, and stay woke - becuz education ain't no joke. So stay in school. Whether it's seaberryy or king k - just stay, and do your homework - no eff around.

The library staff was really helpful - especially to my 11 year old son! He was interested in comic books and they talked him through the variety of what’s available, and the options that are on island, and off island. A great place to bring the kids for quiet time and exploration for sure - they can touch ACTUAL books and turn pages (as opposed to digital media). The knowledgeable staff, convenient parking and proximity to Makawao center makes this place gem.

This place is great and they have once a month movies and other events on Wednesday evenings. The staff are super helpful and friendly as well. It has public computers for use and a good library of movies and music. Great job makawao library.
