Dr. Darren Egami is a fabulous orthopedic surgeon. He really cares and has great communication skills. He gives an accurate and detailed diagnosis and prognosis. His assistant, Conchita, is very caring and welcoming, as is the woman who sets up any followup appointments. You will be in wonderful hands. Dr. Egami is the best!

I have been to Dr. Egami lately so he could examine my foot and leg because I fell and bruised them.nI have gone to see him before when he was located in Lahaina and I used to live in Lahaina years ago but now I live in Wailuku Hawaii and since Dr. Egami has an office in Wailuku it is convenient for me to see him in Wailuku.nI probably won't go back because he said that my foot and leg were healing nicely and I won't need to come back in to see him again unless I needed him to look at it again

I just called the office to see if I could get some help with a VA form. Unfortunately I was not able to, but the receiptionist, Conchita was so nice and helpful that I actually felt good for a few minutes!nnI don't know how Doc is, but she was GREAT!nnlaurel

I called to get an appointment and wasn’t able to schedule one , very rude receptionist and doesn’t have time for you. Rather get work done with a more professional office.

I have been seeing Dr. Egami for over a year now and he is awesome! Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is also one of the kindest, most compassionate doctors I have ever met. Every time I see him, he spends as much time with me as we need to go over my issues, and carefully explains everything to me in laymen's terms to make sure I understand what's going on.nnUnfortunately with my injury, there really wasn't much surgically that he could do here on Maui, so he helped me make an appointment with a doctor on Oahu, who is also unable to perform surgery. I loved how he was 100% honest with me from the beginning about my condition and was totally willing to refer me to another doctor if that doctor could be more helpful. Since seeing the other doctor, Dr. Egami has been helping me cope with my injury since surgery is not a viable option right now, and I have significantly less pain now than I did a year ago simply by following his suggestions. I was even able to get off ALL of my pain meds with his help, which is huge for me!nnThe only thing that I can say even remotely negatively about visiting Dr. Egami's office is that sometimes there is a bit of a wait (15-30 min). But honestly this isn't his fault - he has so many patients who depend on him that he tries to squeeze in as many people as possible every day. Every time I go there, his waiting room is pretty full, even though they call patients back every few minutes. Nobody really complains though, because everyone sees how hard he is working and how much he cares, so we are all just grateful to be able to see him that day. No joke!nnTo summarize, Dr. Egami really is one of the best doctors I have ever seen in any field, which is saying something as I have seen A LOT of doctors over the years. I would recommend seeing him to anyone and everyone who needs a good orthopedic doctor!
