Saint Joseph Church

Beautiful old church with stubbing scenery and grounds. Very historical.

Beautiful church on Maui's wild, windy and DRY south side. It's currently closed but you can get out and look around or visit with neighboring horses on the property next to the church.

A breathtakinly beautiful location, but getting there is not for the faint of heart. The road to get there is barely a road; if this part of the Road to Hana is ever maintained, it does not show. Contains a billion or so loose rocks, a few million potholes, a few thousand ruts, and enough twists and turns to make you wish for the peace and quiet of a demolition derby. Best time to visit is late in the day at a time when it is raining more to the east and sunny to the west, to see a spectacular rainbow.

Such a random church we came across at the end of our road trip of the Road to Hana. Loved the setting and the quietness of the spot. It was raining so we didn’t spend a lot of time exploring but we still got to enjoy the view of Haleakala mountain range. Very well maintained church and surrounding. Totally free to check it out.

Such a beautiful setting. History right in front of you and see inspiring views of the back side of Haleakala. If it's been rainy you get a great view of waterfalls far up the mountain.
