BASIS Tucson Primary

Love this school have both my girls in basis schools and I’m extremely impressed on the amount of information they learn. My kids did not get sick this winter no sickness/bug was going around the school so that just goes to show you what type of school it is :) I’m very satisfied

Its really good!! The teachers are nice and know what they are doing.

We've always been a private school family, killing ourselves to scrape tuition together at times, because (let's face it) TUSD often leaves something to be desired. My eldest son started at BASIS in 6th grade, and my youngest is attending the new primary school.nThis program is not for everyone. If your child is not a dedicated student, I suggest you consider another school. My youngest is flourishing, and I expect that she will continue to do well, as she is learning the BASIS way early, developing strong organizational skills and not developing bad habits. My oldest, however, has picked up a lot of bad habits over the years, and it isn't the best fit for him, so we'll be putting him in a different school for 8th grade next year.nAcademics and expectations are high. Your child will be expected to be an active participant in his or her education. Your child must pass all subjects AND pass all of the end of year exams to be advanced to the next grade. They do not make exceptions on this point. Ever.nThe staff is extremely vigilant about safety, and the campus is a fortress.nnCons:nParking, as well as drop off and pick up are a logistical nightmare. This is largely due to the high concentration of inconsiderate drivers.nI have found to be the sense of community extremely lacking compared to what I am used to in the private school sector.
