Built by hand by the owners, Pat and Carmen, this beautiful 2 story cottage cabin was originally Pat’s art studio. It has lovingly been transformed into a very special get-away with artistic and eclectic flair yet all the special touches of home including comfortable beds with nice linens, an abundance of towels, lovely soaps & shampoo, & for those who cook, a nicely appointed kitchen. Carmen warmly greeted us with her southern hospitality and totally surprised us with an incredible home cooked meal, cucumber and lemon infused water, fresh fruit, chocolates, and a bottle of wine. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail were sincerely appreciated following a long drive and an altitude adjustment! (She even had a cool mist humidifier—the most unique and beautiful hanging one we’ve ever seen.) Be sure to take some time to enjoy the lovely paintings which grace the cabin’s walls. Many of these were done by Pat and framed by Carmen.nWe travelled to New Mexico to escape the 100+ degree temperatures of our home. Having lived in the Arroyo Seco area for 30+ years, Pat was especially helpful by providing us with day drive instructions with special places to stop along the way. At the end of the day, one of the highlights of our visit was escaping to the spacious upstairs master suite featuring 2 balconies with views! The Taos Mountain views and a gentle breeze rustling through the aspen leaves made this our favorite spot to relax with a glass of wine following a day of exploring. In the evening hours, the mountain views were magically transformed into a sky filled with stars, solar lanterns lighting the aspens, and the distant howling of coyotes. We loved it!! Our many thanks to both Pat and Carmen for creating such a wonderful place to stay!!
