I have never done anything remotely like whitewater kayaking in my life. I have rowed boats on calm waters, but never have I done something that seemed so perilous. With that being said, NM River Adventures made me feel safe the whole way through. Not only were they filled with a wealth of information regarding techniques to stay safely on your raft/canoe, but the guides were equally knowledgeable regarding the geography/topography of the areas surrounding the Rio Grande. I did the whole kayaking experience by myself, and no one at the company made me feel embarrassed or awkward. If anything, they were even going out of their way to make sure I felt included! I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a break from “The Normal”, but is scared of taking the first steps!

This adventure is a good value, is well run and is a great experience. Devon was our river guide and we recognized him from his help while he worked in the ski valley during the winter. He has great control over the boat and handles the passengers well with quick and clear instruction. I would highly recommend this outfit for your river adventure.

I highly recommend New Mexico River Adventures! We did a half day race course on a Monday afternoon in August. Although the water was low it was a great experience and wish we had done a full day. Our guide, Erin, was wonderful! She had a great sense of humor, taught us a lot and made the whole experience even better! We now have a new love, appreciation, and respect for the Rio Grande. Thanks to NM River Adventures we have found a hobby our whole family loves and will continue to pursue.

We had a very good time on our half day trip. There were 4 of us. Reid was our guide and he was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about rafting, the river, and the land around us. Reid was good with our kids and answered all their questions. He also had some good jokes up his sleeve. If you plan a trip request Reid he was great!
