Have visited many times. Nice place to soak after a hike around Toquima Caves just up the mountain.
Hot spring is nice, quiet get away, except for when the wild donkeys come down for water but they add to the experience
Our first time and it was bitter sweet.nOur black mix Labrador dog, got lost on our first night. Her name is Saydee, she is 14 years old, has a small white patch under her neck, she is wearing a blue collar and she has gray hair on her chin. We stayed 2 nights instead of one just to look for her but we never found her.nnThe springs are beautiful. The hot spring at the top of the hill has gold fish. The view is outstanding. Unfortunately, the tub does not fill to the top because it's cracked. We saw antelope walking up to drink so we left. We told our kids that we all need to respect the antelope's home and not bother them.nThe middle hot spring is a dug up pool. There is a tree bark as a towel holder and marker. The water is so hot and relaxing. Odds are, you might see a lot of wild hares hopping all over the place.nThe bottom hot spring has a tub the is lined with a blue tarp. The pipe that feeds the water can be moved to regulate the temperature. The water was about 110°F or 43.33°C. That spring has about 4 other shallow pools that look beautiful in pictures. I did not see anyone use those pools. We camped 10 feet away from the bottom pool and heard the donkeys at night coming to drink water.nnWe have T-Mobile and had great reception. A plane landed on the road and the pilot went to enjoy the hot springs. There were lots of nice people camping. There are no restrooms nor showers. The dawn and sun sets are beautiful. It gets really super cold at night compared to the day tome.
Every was great except, camping is near impossible with now many burros come to drink from the spring at night. They are super loud and you won't get any sleep, unless you have top of the line ear plugs.
One of the most memorable experiences werenmade with one of the most special human beings I’ve ever been lucky enough to know, here. It’s a magical secret spot in the middle of the Nevadian high-desert. If you go on a clear winter night, after a snowfall, and on a night where the moon is full- it’s absolutely breathtaking.
