A religious adobe structure built by Don Juan Romero in 1845 to serve the settlement of Los Cordovas, established by settlers from the Madrid Province of Spain. It was consecrated by Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy of France, who became Bishop of New Mexico. Since the 1960's its use has been residential. It is one of few buildings like it still existent in the state, and is still home to the Romero family.
