Awesome theater,I highly recommend, great atmosphere. The owner, Phil is a top notch host. The whole place is a true gem. Second to none.

This isn’t a review of the Mountaineer, this is a big shout out to the owner Phil who does a Wednesday night star gazing side gig for anyone wanting a guided tour of our Milky Way galaxy.nnWe met him and a few other families up at Windy Peak where Phil pointed out the constellations, had us peer through his telescope at Jupiter and Saturn and told us not just a few facts about the night sky.nnFantastic evening!! Thank you Phil!

Where else can you go to a tiny, intimate theater in an extremely remote high altitude Rocky Mountain town and see first run movies? ..a theatre where Phil, the owner, stands up in front of the crowd, sometimes in a costume of that week's main movie character, making announcements about upcoming movies and giving away door prizes. The interior walls are paneled with large black and white paintings of famous movie stars from the past. The Mountaineer Theatre is a gathering place for locals as well as town guests. This theater is a gem, a one-of-a-kind American theater experience.

Great place for enjoy movies! And the popcorn are amazing
