If you're in San Francisco, then Chinatown is a must see. Yes, it can be crowded at times, but I think it just adds to the hustle and bustle energy of this iconic neighborhood. There are great restaurants to try, and lots of stores selling the usual tourist souvenirs as well as fine items like home furnishing decor. Sometimes there is street music to stop and listen to while strolling through.

It's like being in China

It is sort of the grand entrance to Chinatown. From here we enter the grant Street which is the touristy part of Chinatown. Most of art, craft and gift shops are located on this street. It has many restaurants and also the famous Golden gate bakery (closed when we're here). We came here during the Chinese new year year - 2021. Certain parts of Grant St. were made pedestrian only and streets were decorated with red lanterns. Best time for pictures here are during dusk and night.nnVisit the Stockton street (parallel street to Grant) part of Chinatown to shop for seafood and groceries.nnA SFMTA garage is very close to the Dragon's gate entrance.

It is hard to comprehend just how big Chinatown is. Fantastic food. Great window shopping. Recommended.

This shabby city reminds me of old Guangzhou instead of old Shanghai because of its cleanliness, declining buildings, and the living conditions of residents. Fortunately, they haven’t experienced too many political reforms. The people living there are relatively It's quite simple and hard work. After all, they have to try to inherit their family business from generation to generation in a foreign country.
