This place is a great community resource. I've been shopping there since moving to the neighborhood in 1983 and have bought tiny bolts and nuts of obscure size, paint, electrical and plumbing parts, a garbage disposal still going strong after decades, and a specialty snow removal sledge by special order. They have a lot of stuff and they know where it is, and they offer decent advice to the homeowner.
Because of health concerns, I called the store and paid for my purchase online, and then a very nice and helpful employee (who was wearing a mask), put the purchase in the trunk of my car, which I'd parked right in front of the store's entrance (there are about 3 spaces there). So, though I was sorry to read that one employee wasn't wearing a mask, I still love this place. And I hope these reviews encourage the employee to use a mask, especially since Covid cases are rising again in Massachusetts.
This has been my favorite Hardware Store for years. Very helpful friendly staff. But from now on I will hesitate to go in there because, today an employee I didn't recognize did not have his mask over his nose. When I pointed this out to him he said he was 6 feet away. He covered his nose for a while, then later uncovered it and walked right past me in the store. None of the other employees seemed to mind. Up to today I would give 5 stars. Today only one star.
Love this place. Have almost everything I ever need. But one employee not wearing mask during covid 19 pandemic makes me not want to go in.
