Hanneman Funeral Home

My best friend's husband died in Alabama. He was from Findlay and wanted to be buried there. The funeral home handled all of the arrangements with local family but NEVER contacted her. Then they handed her the bill as she was walking to her car from the graveside. Extremely inappropriate and unethical!

My husband passed; and upon hearing that all the family in Ohio would be traveling to Alabama (where we live) the next day, The funeral director pressured my deceased husband’s twin brother into signing all the paperwork for a 2nd funeral (to take place in his home town). It was my intent to only have a graveside service since we were already having a funeral in Alabama. Instead, The Hanneman funeral Director planned an entire second funeral for my husband without any input from me, his wife. Hanneman NEVER called me (the next of kin and the executor of his will.) They used the excuse that I “wasn’t moving fast enough.” But how would they know? They never contacted me; or my husband’s 3 grown children. Instead, they signed contracts with his extended family and then handed me the bill at the funeral! Not only is this illegal in the state where the body was coming from, it is reprehensible action toward a desperately grieving IMMEDIATE family. So, the one star is because the funeral home was clean, and nicely kept; and the young man who was assigned to us was the only professional thing I came in contact with. All of that said, the funeral home allowed my husband’s coffin interior lining to be changed from a dignified cream (how he arrived from his first funeral) to camouflage; without even asking if that was ok with... the grieving widow who picked it out, dressed her husband in his beautiful suede coat, and paid the airfare to ship him there. Then, they handed me the $$$ bill on my way to the car at the gravesite. A bill for a contract I never signed. Good luck folks.

These people was so awesome and did a great job making sure it was done the way I wanted it. They were so polite and caring. Thank you so much for everything.

We just had my dads service here. They were with us every step of the way, willing to answer any questions we had. These people are wonderful and personable. Will recommend them to anybody. Thank you again for helping my family through this tough time.
