2020 1st Sunday in Advent. I was visiting the area for the weekend and this was the closest LCMS congregation to my hotel. Word and Sacrament is a good description for how worship is done here. (I’m pretty sure we followed Divine Service 1 from LSB. Everything was printed in the handout. My home church does the same because of pandemic concerns.) They started with Holy Baptism for a new child of God! Then a nice processional and great hymns including some Advent classics. (The pianist was excellent!). Even with pandemic masks, these folks can sing. Pastor Borcher is a competent and skilled preacher. The Good News about Jesus was preached and God’s people here revere the Sacrament of the Altar. I pray that God would continue to bless Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton!
