Is always clean, and smells like coffee. The design is open but still cozy. The baristas make good drinks and the food is made at the college so it's fresh. I like to go there to get a drink which helps settle me into studying. The vegan muffins never disappoint.

The Kern Center was one of the most successful projects I have ever worked on as a environmental building consultant. From the start of the design process with Bruner Cott and the College, through construction with Wright Builders and their terrific slate of subcontractors, and through performance verification and tweaking during the first year of occupancy, everyone involved did their best work to make the project a huge success. Kern has a wonderful feeling, it's beautiful and demonstrates what is possible when a community holds a clear vision of what is to be accomplished.

Sara and Claire gave our group a wonderful VIRTUAL tour of the RW Kern Center. It only made me want to see it in person even more….Their enthusiasm was very welcome as we begin our own journey toward Living Building Certification. Their willingness to share their knowledge to help inform and influence the next generation of Living Buildings is greatly appreciated!

I had a wonderful experience working here as an Intern in 2019/2020! The Kern Center is a great work environment that is pushing the envelope of sustainable buildings, plus the staff are amazing!

On both floors they have really great conference rooms for presentations and work retreats! The whole layout of the building is very beautiful and they've incorporated elements of nature into the design. It's great just to sit in and do work, even in the hallways where they've set up comfy chairs for informal meetings. When I was there for a work retreat last year, another event (celebration for their new president/chancellor I think?) was happening downstairs and they had a free ice cream station set up.
