Kew Gardens Cinemas

3/28/2021 UPDATE: They’ve reopened on weekend’s. It was my first showing there in over a year and I had the theater to myself, as safe as it gets and a much better viewing experience than on the couch. If you can safely go to a movie theater, I would suggest this one as I’ve never seen it too crowded for proper distancing. They served concessions and were as friendly and great as ever!nnThis is our favorite local indie theater. They recently renovated a lot of their seating and lobby without losing the pleasant touch of a family-run business. This is the best place to go in Queens for indie/arthouse movies, and their selection of new releases is top-notch. The prices and quality of concessions are really good, the staff is very friendly, and the theater/sound is great for just about anything except the latest action blockbusters. Those movies are the only reason we ever go to the chain theaters instead of Kew anymore. Can't wait to stop back by this weekend to see their latest offerings.

Charming old fashioned theatre with indie and foreign films! Decent ticket and concession prices. Good audio and cozy theater space for a very pleasant viewing. All covid guidelines were followed and I felt very safe.nnMinus 1 star for seat being slightly uncomfortable and squeaks when a person moves.

Thankful one of our favorite cinemas is back open. Our family recently went and watched “Raya and the Last Dragon.” It was so nice to be able to sit inside again. We felt safe as all Covid-19 guidelines were followed, and we had a good experience under the current circumstances.nLet’s support our local cinema!

Thank you for opening up and having Covid-19 procedures up and running to perfection. I visited this wonderful theater with my family and we really enjoyed our time there.
