Hard to find books

I went in last Saturday (Halloween) wanting to purchase a new NOOK. Went over to the customer service area where they were displayed. Unfortunately there was a table with books blocking the area so I couldn't get to the display.(I am guessing staff was putting new books in the stacks so that table was temporary.) Out of the 4 NOOKS on display, three were out of stock. A young man with curly dark hair was close to us, and had my girlfriend not spoken up, he would have ignored us completely. We asked about a NOOK, and he spouted off a 1-800 number, assuming we were having problems with one. We said we wanted to BUY one. The guy commented he only had the one, and I wanted to see what the features were. He couldn't get the display to reach to me (cuz of the aforementioned table), so I asked him to get me one. He did. Then I wanted to buy a cover for it. He pointed vaguely to one side behind the table, then walked off toward the front end, with the NOOK I wanted. I felt as though he didn't want to help me at all, given his hurried demeanor. I wanted to ask some questions, maybe even check out features. Again, he didn't want to help. Why? IT WAS TIME FOR HIM TO LEAVE! As we were making our way up front, he had his jacket, hat, and backpack. Out the door he went, leaving my NOOK with his coworker. Okay, so I went to cash out, having a $10 coupon code plus my membership ready. The code didn't work (not sure why) but she made it right by taking $10 off my purchase price. Her friendliness and effort basically saved the sale. I love this store. I have shopped here for 30 years, and I will shop here again. I was simply disappointed with the young man's interest in helping a CUSTOMER vs his desire to be done with his shift. Please staff, pay attention to your customers. Just because we are older doesn't mean our purchases are less valuable. I did spend $250 last Saturday.

Friendly, helpful and efficient. I am in this store often and I have never had anything but good experiences. Whether I am just wandering around killing time or needing to return an item.

Not as big as the nearby location in Holyoke, MA but convenient if you're in the area. Staff was polite.

It seems to have a larger scifi/fantasy section than other B&N's. Love that aspect, just wish the section was curated better.
