Very nice walking trail through the woods. The last stretch up to the summit gets pretty steep, but it's not too difficult. Gorgeous view from the top with some benches and small grills if you are looking to have a little cookout or something. Nature around here seems pretty healthy: lots of chipmunks and birds, and once I even saw a groundhog walking through the bushes. Fantastic place to view the sunset!
Absolutely beautifully maintained trails. Tons of wild berries to pick with the family. A nice small playground and swings for the kids. Large camping spots. Would be 5 stars but there is a lot of police activity here both local and state police constantly have someone stopped inside the park which leads me to believe this must be a local hot spot for illegal activity.
Always such a nice time here ! It's rarely ever totally full of people due to having so many different sitting/hangout spots , so you can usually find a fairly secluded place to spend your time which is really nice . There's a wicked awesome playground at the base of the park that's got woodchips as a type of sandbox , which isn't my favorite thing ever as personally I feel the ground is better than woodchips for children , but hey nothing too bad . Been coming here for a few years now and for the most part my biggest complaint is the other people that go here don't always pick up after themselves so you will probably find some scattered trash and a few cigarette butts lying around .
It's a lovely park. I searched dog park and this came up. It's not a fenced dog park. It's a lovely place to walk a dog. Make sure to walk all the way back to the end for a lovely open area with a view!
My favorite place in Claremont, excellent trail system and a great view of Ascutney from the top.
