I have visited over 100 old burial grounds in New England and I found the Pine Ridge Cemetery very interesting. I tend to look for cemeteries that have grave stones hand carved before 1800. Each town or area has its own stone carvers who demonstrate their skills in stone carving. After 1800 graves were carved with mainly weeping willows and urns in a classical style and after that grave stones were machine made. I visited this cemetery in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and was surprised to see how many grave stones carved in 1799 and 1800 were for young children who like Eunice Boutell died of dysentery.
