I'm a fan of the rail trail in general. I loved walking the old tracks for the scenery, the trail makes sharing it easier. Where the river can be seen, often hawks can be found. Once I saw a little black weasel, looked like a ferret. A lot of history on this trail too. In addition to the information on the plaques, I offer that the glass in the water near this parking area is often older due to washing from an old dump. So, if hundred year old glass is your thing, happy hunting.

Gorgeous place to walk, bike or take the dogs for a run. Raised trail in Westfield so the views are beautiful. One can really catch the flavor of New England on this path. The trail runs all the way to New Haven CT. It started as the Farmington canal in 1825, then became the Northampton New Haven Railroad. A great way to spend some time outdoors exploring.
