The sign says the Old Forest Growth Trail is muddy and it definitely is. The shorter walk on the boardwalk is also beautiful. They have lovely sitting chairs (rocking chairs!) closer to the Wildlife Refuge Center. They have a bike repair station, too. This is a lovely newish place to walk in the area. It made a perfect, refreshing Saturday afternoon hike.

So beautiful already and so much more to come. Very excited to see the floating kayak launch. Beautiful walkway out on the river, ample parking and miles of old growth trails to walk. The US. Fish and wildlife service is doing an amazing job restoring this old polluted factory grounds into a beautiful and inclusive haven for outdoor lovers.

This place is great for the outdoors person. They have a beautiful nature trail, walking path through the woods, along the river. My favorite part is the pier, that you can walk out on, or fish off of. Please help to keep it clean so that they don't have to change rules, such as dogs. Please clean up after your pets.

So very peaceful. Really enjoyed the quiet and scenery. Was a little too chilly to take a long stroll but sitting by the water was very satisfying. I recommend visiting here and visiting often. As of my visit today, the welcome center is closed due to Covid.

Large refuge with plenty of fun and relaxing interaction with mother nature. Has 2 areas (a large pier to walk out to and fish from and several nature trails that skim across the shore line for a few miles). There's some sitting benches to admire the water, some decks to walk along and alot of dirt trails. Perfect for walking, trail running and family but no bikes.nnWill be fun to see how this venue grows when it's able to open to full capacity once Covid is over.
