As a parent of a child that currently attends CB High School I can say that I am Very happy with the school so far. They care about there student's education and it reflects within the attention that they provide to each student. They are making changes to this school because they actually listen and care about there students. When 82 percent of the students favored the name change people should listen.

First let me say, my son started Ben Carson after struggling at Cass Tech. Ben Carson was recommended essentially as a means for my son to return to Cass Tech once he pulled his grades up. I found Cass Tech to be a sink or swim, one size fits all, school with zero room for assisting kids with any struggles, even medical needs. But my son wanted to try to eventually return. So, on to BC High he went, at least temporarily.nnAlthough Ben Carson was not necessarily a place we would have considered initially, I found it to be a good fit for my son. It's a smaller setting, the children are from all walks of life. It's diversity is a plus, allowing for a multicultural experience. Ben Carson has provided the attention my son needs to be successful. The faculty and parents alike work diligently to ensure the students are successful.nnThis is what a real review of a school looks like. It's based on the school and their standards not dismay with a name change. It is shameful for people whose children don't AND NEVER WILL attend this inner-city school to rate this school based on it's decision to change the name. Ben Carson’s behavior while in this ”administration” has been nothing short of disgraceful and harmful to some of the very families who would benefit from programs he has so careless dismantled. I can't say I blame the school for having a discussion surrounding this option. When a African-American refers to slaves as immigrants who came to this country in slaves ships and worked long and harder for less to be successful, it speaks volumes. I mean, like hello? Slaves worked for no money and sure as hell not as immigrants! Yeah, again, can't say I blame the school for considering this option one bit!

Most embarrassing... one of the world's finest pediatric neuro surgeons. A pillar to the community and a man that has saved countless lives. So let's strip his name from the school because the school board wants to play politics. Perhaps the school board needs to encourage more students to aspire to Dr. Carson's level.

There turning their backs on one of the most famous people to come out of Detroit who’s an inspiration to millions, they have no shame.
