I went here today for the first time. I had to honor a bet I lost to a baptist woman. Rock,paper,scissors for the loss. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Only got the evil eye from one woman for about 10 minutes. She stopped most likely after realizing church isn't my specialty anymore and hasn't been for about 10 years. Truthfully I was sweating pretty hard. I didn't know the words to the hymns or the responses in prayers. Wasn't a bad experience and I'd give the service a 9 out of 10. Thankfully everyone was loud enough to drown out my terrible singing. The hymns and prayer responses are different from what I remember. Also not a catholic anymore so I know they run parallel but different. Very happy to not have to stand, kneel, sit, and then rinse and repeat 5 times.nnI'll try again next week. Baby steps right. I didn't attend the socializing after the service. I can only handle so much awkward in one morning. That and I'm terrible with names and dates. Everyone will eventually tire of telling me their names. I typically takes notes of names corresponding to our interaction but alot of people find it rude if you pull out your phone to type while talking to them.
