This was such a fun day. The boat ride is beautiful and we learned a lot about the area. The food was great, and the process is a well oiled machine. Beautiful setting and very nice people. I was worried it would be a tourist trap, but it's so nice and we loved it.
Our family loved our visit to Cabbage Island! The boat ride provided gorgeous views and history of the harbor. Once we arrived, the staff was so responsive! We had drinks within a couple minutes, and then generous portions of a traditional New England fish chowder followed by a clambake. The culmination was a delicious blueberry cake that I couldn't stop eating despite being full from the meal. The island is beautiful and they offer badminton and horseshoes if you are interested in playing. I highly recommend this trip.
Have you really experienced the best of the Midcoast if you haven’t gone on a Cabbage Island Clambake? I don’t think so. Please treat yourself and your family to this one of a kind experience. How often are you going to spend an afternoon eating a delicious traditional New England clam bake while being surrounded by swimming seals and eagles flying over head. Perhaps the only thing better than the food is how friendly the family that’s hosting you is. Truly incredible food cooked by a truly incredible family.
I have been to Cabbage island multiple times and will go every time I'm in Boothbay. It's such a good time. The family that runs the island is truly happy that you are there and the food is amazing. The sweetest lobster I have ever had. Don't hesitate, put this on the top of the list for things to do in Boothbay.
We took a trip to Cabbage Island for the lobster bake. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and willing to educate and share their baking process and island facts. More food than you could imagine....2 lobsters, baked potato, corn, onion, hard boiled egg and clams!!! Absolutely delicious. I know we will be making a return trip!!
