Such a beautiful independent book store. If you are ever here take the time to visit. Just a romantic type of store for the book lover and many other other things for the writer as well. I have heard their support for writers and that is an A+ in my book. Such a cozy feel once entering with a magical feeling one might get lost into, especially for the upcoming writers and readers, the child wanted there. So many places aren't like this one. They not only promote child learning and reading, they cherish it and represent their molding of it, by the reading treasures they will provide them. I will once again gladly make my way there for a visit, I have no doubt about that I'm sure. My name us Roger Browning. My published novel is 'The Reckoning of Rance' and it's now out on Amazon.

I absolutely LOVE this little bookshop. Bookends & Beginnings is straight out of a movie! I am so happy they are just around the corner from me, and am in love with their new expansion which focuses more on gift and stationery items. The original alley store also has a great kids area in the back, which I can’t wait to spend more time in with my son after Covid has ‘concluded.’ Staff is also super helpful and nice, and the shop frequently hosts cool events that help support both writers and the local community. Now that Barnes and Noble isn’t in the area, I hope they continue to do better and better!!!!

With the departure of Barnes and Noble, this is our only source for new books in Evanston, a university city. Unfortunately the selection of fiction and nonfiction here is too narrowly partisan. Nice folks running the place, obviously conscious about race, gender, and equity, but visiting it gives me the impression of having entered a religious bookstore or one of those old Christian Science reading rooms, where the inventory is full of works by established theologians or obscure titles and authors all promoting a well intended but decidedly single point of view.

Great independent bookstore! Employees were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Good selection of (cheaper) used books, as well. Support small businesses!

I finally stopped by the new addition, and absolutely love the space! Same friendly staff, the environment felt safe, and I'm so happy to keep supporting this Evanston staple!
