I was here about 24 years ago, and as a young person on the verge of life, it was a perfect place to get lost for an afternoon. I spoke with the owner, Roger, for what seemed like an hour or so--about literature, life, why he began the bookstore (and then promptly wrote it all down in my journal, where I also posted a photo of him so that I wouldn't forget what a magical day I'd spent in that store). I'm quite sure Roger's thoughts about starting that little, out-of-the-way shop, his life, etc., helped to shape my own path. I'm devastated that this shop is closed, as I'd hoped to revisit it someday, and see Roger again too. To this day, it's one of my favorite bookstores of all time.
