Shedd Aquarium

Book your tickets online early! We used the city pass and got tickets to a movie when we got there as part of our pass. Only the snack bar was open for lunch and it was slim pickings at 12:30. Then we walked around talking in the sights. Saw the dolphins training which was very cool. Not sure where the dolphin went afterward. Also saw the penguins getting fed. Loved seeing the beluga whales! For the most part people were following the flow of direction. There are some jam points like at the bottom of the stairs near the bathrooms.nPeople need to realize personal boundaries in the place. Museum needs to keep the flow of traffic moving in these choke points, asking families to stand off to the side would be helpful or putting tape boxes on the floor to show where they can stand. Loved seeing the animals.

I was especially impressed with the tanks as some of them were very elaborate (like the one that simulated water hitting the coast because the fish are used to fast moving water!nnOur favorite part was the larger animals, as the dolphins and beluga whales have a HUGE exhibit!

Amazing experience. They have a very nice dolphin show. I thing they had beluga whale as well. They do have a good 3D movie as well which is worth watching. I had a chance to see sea monsters .it was very good. They have a few for kids as well. They also allow you touch some fishes like star fish.

So much to look at. So much to see. So many different kinds of sea/ocean animals to learn about and observe. The 4D theatre was so cute. Staff was friendly and helpful! Loved it! Can’t wait to come back!

A very interesting aquarium but pretty expensive. My husband and I were in town for our son's Navy boot camp graduation. This day happened to be very gloomy and pretty chilly so we thought this would be a great way to spend a few hours. We all really loved looking at all of the seat creatures, fish, and animals. The 3D movie was fun to watch also. If we are ever in Chicago again we would definitely be sure to visit here again.
