The library is doing a great job with covid-19 protocols. And the staff is always helpful and pleasant to talk with. I went in to check out 1 book and walked out with 6! Better get reading
I love this library but I think they should have more options of books and one of the staff members was a little rude but the other staff was super nice!

I can’t believe I’m giving a library a rating of a three... I’m a lover of books and libraries! I had hopes for this library when I first moved to Belvidere as I liked the exterior. Very historic looking. However when I went inside I was a bit disappointed. This poor library is definitely dated and could use a funding bump and a bit of TLC (an expansion would be nice too). I like that the staff seems to care about the patrons and that they try to do some programs. I just wish some of the book clubs were in the evening as well as the board meetings. It would be easier for those with jobs to help and participate.nnI think this library has the potential to be good for the community, but it needs some help to get there.
Building is dated and really needs help. Where are our tax dollars going! Staff is friendly and helpful. The library is a symbol of our educational attitude. Why are we putting money into a Belvidere museum no one uses. Why not combine the two so the residents can view exhibits or historical displays while using the library. Make note of the one in Cherryvalley as a example of what it should be.
