Great trail system just outside the town of Thomas, WV that is great for people of all ages and hiking levels. The scenery is beautiful and the trails are laid out well!
Great park. Was quiet. Had a great place to fish.
A great network of trails that allow access to the dark and deep woodlands of this area. I use the trails to mainly access the shoreline, but be aware that there are very few access points, and the places I fish do not look to be accessed that often. I prefer to fish from a kayak, and there is an outstanding launch access from the boat ramp. I have never found this park to be busy, and if you ignore the traffic noise from 219, you can feel quite secluded here. I have always had good luck fishing here!
Very dense but awesome trail.
Absolutely beautiful network of trails developed and well maintained by the City of Thomas. The longest loop is just over 2 miles so ideal for a casual jaunt into thick forest canopy. The trail is loaded with ferns, mushrooms, streams and small bridges. The lower section follows the town lake and then ascends into some really nice hemlock groves. We walk this every few days with our dogs and are never disappointed, regardless of time of year. Ideal for hikers, bikers and cross country skiiers. Dog friendly!
