Quiet. Not so much crime. Lots of things to do
Very helpful with travel concerns
Very clean station. Lots of historical plaques and architecture. There is even an old telephone booth. Microwave, drink machine, snack machine, small free library for your reading pleasure. If you have a layover there is a playground outside for kids. Pick nick tables. Restrooms for passengers only. Be aware that trains are on a strict schedule so when it's time to go you better be there!!!
East Texas is beautiful and historical. The Amtrak train station is well maintained.
