Did I know very much about Frank Phillips before touring his home? No. But this tour provided a great deal of insight into the Phillips family and the beginning of Phillips 66. Quite informative.

After leaving the Woolaroc Museum, we wanted to see the home of Frank Phillips. Of course, it was closed on Sunday's. I am sure it looks great inside. We could only drive by to see it. I thought it would be bigger than it was. It is in the middle of town. I guess when it was originally built, it was probably one of a few homes in downtown Bartlesville. We could see a greenhouse on the property. I am not sure if it was originally there or added at a later time.

This mansion is definitely worth the visit. Lovely home, I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the guides takes you on the tour, answers questions. There's an elevator indoors to get to 2nd and third floors. One room, library, is sunken but I think a wheelchair or scooter bound person could still easily view the room. I just dont recall if theres a wheelchair ramp but I'll bet there is. Free parking. Nice little gift shop where I picked up some local cookbooks, or you can get a lively coffee table book of the area, nick knacks, postcards, etc. Next time I will take the Director's tour and watch the film.
