I have been going to this hospital and it’s affiliated doctors for 10 years now. I trust them completely with my healthcare. The staff has always been super nice and comforting. The bedside manor of the doctors and nurses is outstanding no matter what department you are in. This has been and always will be my hospital of choice!

Was transported feb the 13 2021 from South St. Francis to Osu Medical Center. I arrived positive for covid and with a blood sugar level which was the real reason for the transport according to the nurse. Arrived at 3:26 pm, asked about a menu for a meal, they stated I had admitted too late top order my own food that they would send something up for me. The winter Vortex was beginning and the icu room had no heat at all. Every patient i observed on the way in had a single blanket I was told by the nurse that the room they placed mke in the thermostat was broken.nnThe resident advised me that my own doctors advise on transusion therapy was not a real option so to speak stating my 02 levels were at 94 that they would likely discharge me in the am when the real doctor gets in, aka attending. they made excuses for thios as a teaching hospital, so what. His solution was a steroid to be sent home with. 16 hours later I was admitted to Hillcrest south with covid double lung Pneumonia. Where in the next day I received my transfusion therapy after a visit from the Infectious disease doctor. I received two transfusions during my stay in hillcrest south. They were agressive against covid, unlike osu medical center. i attribute that to the fact that I have 6 diseases that compromised my recovery but I did recover Thanks to God and the wonderful staff at Hillcrest South.nnI did not choose a teaching hiospital I was transported due to the anorder by the e.r,. doctor at south st francis.nI have appealed my charges thus far on the intial appeal they did an investigation. The latina nurse lied to the staff who was investigating their dept. is called quality. That word is rather generous considering my 3 hour stay.nnThe nurse never offered to get me a differant meal than the large white flour pasta with meat and mushrooms, as she had tmisled the investigation team to believe. Had I eaten that meal my blood sugar would have spiked and made it more difficult for an already taxed immune system to fight for me.nnThey did not discuss my medication list, and drew blood out of the iv rather than finger stick me, gave me no information on what they were doing their feckless attempt to keep me warm was to pile more blankets on top of me. All that cover would cause persperation in a room that would only get colder during night with an incoming winter vortex.nnSo the idea of standing to use a urinal or sitting on an undersized bedise toilet becuase this ridiculousa excuse for a hospital did not have a proper restroom in the rooms.nnThe few times that I spoke to the resident he reinforced the idea of my discharge in the morning. I became very angry after I noticed my meal was definately not fit for a diabetic. with a blood sugar already elevated due to the covid lower respiratory infection. The staff did next to nothing and stated their policy which I discovered is non existant from the director of their quality team stating I should have been able to order my dinner even at the time I arrived that the kitchen was open until 7 and could have easily made a meal appropriate for my ciondition, I also advised that staff that I had not eaten yet for the day.nnIn summary less than accomadating staff, a very unhealthy temp in an icu room, no restroom nor concern for modesty with a bedside toilet. Charged 1447$ for 3 hours of not a non excistant care, and 383$ and change, charged to me from st francis on behalf of osu medical. The cfo of st. francis is also the cfo of OSU Medical center.nnThose responseable became spin doctors which lead me to beleive that the ethics of the staff are very much in question as they lied in their investigation.nnI would never recommend this hospital to anyone. It is old outdated and thier maintenance on such things as temperature control is woefully maintained. The food issue is an issue should someone else end up on nurse wratchets ward in the icy u.

I will be filing a complaint with tbe medical board, theres absolutely no reason to have rude, and careless nurses working in hospitals! Families are going through enough as is, than to have the people they are depending on be nasty and rude to families and the patients!! To have the nurse at tbe station hang up on my husband twice when he called to ask if his son could come up to visit, the nurse wouldn't even talk to him, and the ER nurse at the only door open after dark, tell my son who asked to go up and see his daddy, tell him he can't go up, and that it's not her problem!! Seriously!! What happened to compassion? You can tell people they aren't allowed somewhere without being nasty, you can talk to a patient and tell them the same thing without hanging up on them! Don't go to this hospital unless its your last resort!!!

I would give 0 stars if I could.nnYou should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer, and they didn't even act like they needed to hurry as far as a treatment plan goes. I kept asking her when appointments were, when chemo starts, when surgery is. Next thing you know, she's in the ER because she's suffering...and the doctors who actually know what they're doing wonder what the heck is going on? They don't understand why OSU Medical wasn't in a hurry to help her?nnI can't even believe the bs she has had to go through to receive appropriate care and treatment. I'm glad she's in a real hospital now.
