Even in this time of COVID-19 and the precautions that have to be.....nThe Penland Gallery Representative was very helpful and Information and allowed us all the time we needed and answered all our questions about the school and artists represented in the gallery.nWe would suggest anyone who has an interest in Penland Continue their exploration of the school and their facilities.

I had an opportunity to speak with one of the artists/teacher David Clemmons and his work is amazing. My favorites are his flatware sets. They are so beautiful that I might be tempted to not eat with them!

Wonderful collection of pieces. Lots of different styles, techniques and crafts. All odds extremely high quality. There are always new things that make you marvel at the creativity and the technical skills of the artists and crafts.nnI know it's a little out of your way but it'll be soooooo worth your time.nnOn the way up we saw a doe with not one, not two, but three fauns and on our way down we saw a pied buck. That's pretty good too.

One of the best galleries in the southern Appalachian region, showcasing the finest works of Penland graduates and faculty, with impressive rotating exhibit space ( do NOT miss the current exhibit of Japanese living master silversmiths...truly one of a kind). Diverse, both edgy and traditional, art you will find few other places.

Worth the trip from wherever you are coming from. The selection is so perfectly curated that you could spend an hour here just soaking it all in and listening to the staff tell you everything that you could want to know about a particular artist if you ask. Otherwise they won't bother you at all. Wonderful.
